Good luck to all who are running Way Too Cool this weekend — stay dry and run fast! Also, we are rolling out “Starter Striders” this week for beginning trail runners or folks who are just starting to get back into things. We will have info about this week’s “Starter Striders” runs on our social media platforms. Check it out!
Here are this week’s runs:
Tuesday, Feb. 27: Meet at Huffaker School at 5:45 p.m. and run through Bartley Ranch to Anderson Park (“The Pasture”) to Country Estates Loop back through The Pasture and up Windy Hill back to the school for 5ish miles or extend the run from Windy Hill up Evans and down Ridgeview back to Lakeside and the school for 7ish miles;
Thursday, Feb. 29: Meet at Reno Running Co. at Lakeside at 5:45 p.m. for Thursday Night Hills;
Saturday, March 2: Meet at Rancho San Rafael at the visitor center parking lot at 8 a.m. We will run out of the park under McCarran and take the Keystone Connector to the Keystone trailhead, then run the Peavine Faceoff course, up the face of Peavine to the maintenance road, down on the road and then turn right into and through Poeville Canyon and back to Keystone Trailhead then back over to Rancho for about 18 miles. Conditions on Saturday will be snowy, windy and variable, so plan accordingly with good layering of clothing, plenty of snacks and hydration. Traction devices might come in handy on the maintenance road to Poeville Canyon.
